Carlos Baute's Secret Son

During an interview on the popular TV show La Tijera, Nayera Areyan gave details of how, after finding out she was pregnant, Carlos Baute and his family chose to run away instead of facing the facts.

"They left before dawn. They sold (the house). I remember I sat with my mother and she said to me: 'let's raise him by ourselves'."

It's easy to dismiss the allegations and wonder why so many years went by before Areyan took action, but it becomes a bit harder to deny when seeing the resemblance between Baute and Jose Daniel. Arayan also talked about the motives that pushed her to sue the artist.

"He must acknowledge (he is the father of) my son, in terms of documents, papers, so my son can live there."

The son in question, José Daniel, told La Tijera about his first encounter with his assumed father, about his journey to Spain, where Baute resides, to seek him out.

Upon arriving and requesting to meet Baute, the singer requested a DNA paternity test to clear all doubts. José Daniel took the test, but was never informed of the results. They did end up meeting, during which José Daniel claims Baute referred to him as "his son", told him that he "carried his blood," and promised to help him secure residency in Spain. But that help never came through, and the only other contact he received from Baute was through the singer's lawyers asking José Daniel to remain silent about all of this.

José Daniel maintains he only seeks recognition from his father in order to be able to apply for residency in Spain, where his career prospects will be better.
